Opinion Journal published this morning a brief and uplifting editorial on faith, the priesthood and the Church. A positive account of the impact and inspiration of one man's life and death in service to God is welcome at a time when the priesthood is routinely disparaged and the holy order of the Church is under siege by secularism and ignorance.

Good and holy priests in the Catholic Church far outnumber those who engage in criminal and reprehensible behavior, e.g., sexual encounters with minors. It would be nice if the media occasionally addressed why many Catholics STAY in the Church rather than why other Catholics leave it. But then I suppose that's not considered newsworthy - "bad news is good news and good news is no news," right?!
