Good News From the Democrat Convention

Words to cheer from the convention speech given by the worst president in modern times:

"My name is Jimmy Carter, and I am not running for president."

Well, actually, a recent C-Span poll rated both Nixon and Ford below Carter. See http://www.americanpresidents.org/survey/historians/overall.asp Also, the Federalist Society and the Wall Street Journal(quite obviously two bastions of liberal pandering) rated Nixon below Carter. See http://www.opinionjournal.com/hail/rankings.html
As if that weren't enough, Zogby International (a polling service) rated Johnson, Nixon, and Ford all below Carter (and, lest you cry bias, rated W as the 3rd best recent president, ahead of Reagan!). See http://www.zogby.com/features/features.dbm?ID=129 But, by all means, don't let facts get in the way of a good quip!

Carter on domestic policy = Misery Index
Carter on foreign policy = Olympic Boycott

Carter is indeed a worse President than Ford. However, Nixon had to resign to avoid certain impeachment. He left the Presidency so weakened that it was too enfeebled to even get funds to forestall the collapse of South Vietnam. He left Ford weak and having to pardon him, thus dooming Ford. He was the most liberal Repbulican President ever. Almost like a reverse Clinton.

Nixon must be rated as worse than Carter. Carter left us prostrate before or enemies and economic competitors but he did not destroy his party and weaken his successor. That said Nixon, Ford, Carter. Why even without Disco the 70's were a horror show.
